Debuting at the 2004 Paris Salon, the "F430" isFerrarithe successor to the "360 Modena," which became a hit since its launch. That said, it inherited only the style of a V8 engine laid out in the rear, and almost everything else, including the design, chassis, and engine, has been renewed.

The beautiful body, created in collaboration with Pininfarina, is formed from aluminum panels, and an advanced aluminum space frame is used for its strong internal structure. This achieves a lightweight yet highly rigid body required for a sports car.

The engine is a 90-degree V8. With a displacement of 4.3 liters, as indicated in its name, it produces 490 ps and 465 Nm. A dry-sump lubrication system is employed to withstand circuit driving.
In addition to a manual transmission with a classic gate, an F1-type gearbox with paddles on the steering wheel is available. The steering wheel is equipped with a "Manettino," similar to F1, which allows for changes in settings for the gearbox, suspension, and other systems.

Furthermore, the electronic differential "E-Diff," a technology derived from F1, was first installed in a production car in this F430. In addition to the coupe body "Berlinetta," a "Spider" with an electric soft top became available from 2005, likely increasing the number of fans casting envious glances.

BRAND HISTORY
Not a few fans are thrilled by the emblem known as "Cavallino Rampante," or the "prancing horse" in Japan. A car that excites crowds with its fierce performance on the circuit and captivates people with its elegant silhouette and high-pitched sound on the street – that is FERRARI. In both F1 and road cars, this brand, which pursues the ultimate in speed, still carries the strong passion of its founder, Enzo Ferrari.

Born in Modena, Italy, in 1898, Enzo was so moved by a race he saw in Bologna at the age of 10 that he eventually decided he wanted to become a racing driver. His unwavering ambition steadily moved towards realization, and in 1920, Enzo became a test driver for Alfa Romeo. In the same year, he competed as an Alfa driver in the Targa Florio, achieving an impressive second place.

However, Enzo's interest eventually shifted to managing a racing team, and in 1929, he established Scuderia Ferrari, taking on Alfa's racing activities. Despite his prowess, his relationship with Alfa ended in 1939. After World War II, in 1947, he resumed racing activities with his own "Ferrari 125," equipped with a V12 engine. This marked the beginning of Ferrari as a sports car brand.

Subsequently, Ferrari came under the Fiat umbrella. Currently, under the leadership of President Luca Montezemolo, who also serves as chairman of the Fiat Group, the brand continues to enhance its appeal. The lineup consists of five models: the V12-powered "599" and "612 Scaglietti," the V8 mid-ship sports cars "F430" and "F430 Spider," and the ultra-sporty "430 Scuderia."
