On September 26th, at the Vallelunga "Piero Taruffi" circuit, Lamborghini unveiled the limited edition Gallardo model, the "LP570-4 Blancpain Edition."

Same Specifications as the LP570-4 Superleggera



This special model was created to commemorate the partnership with Blancpain, the world's oldest watch manufacturer founded in 1735, which is also the title sponsor of the Gallardo one-make race, "Super Trofeo."
Blancpain, Lamborghini's official timekeeper in the FIA GT Championship, manufactures its watches in the "Vallée de Joux," the cradle of the Swiss watchmaking industry. The meticulous craftsmanship that goes into each Blancpain timepiece shares a commonality with Lamborghini's own approach.

Regarding this relationship, Blancpain President and CEO A. Hayek stated, "It is an extremely close and dynamic partnership between two companies that, while operating in completely different fields, relentlessly pursue innovation and mechanical excellence."

The engine powering this car is the same 5.2-liter V10 gasoline unit found in the base model, the LP570-4 Superleggera. It boasts a maximum output of 570 ps, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, has a power-to-weight ratio of 2.35 kg per ps, and a top speed of 320 km/h. Notably, its curb weight is also 1340 kg, identical to the most Spartan model in the Gallardo series, the "LP570-4 Superleggera," making it the lightest among Lamborghini's production models.

The exterior features a large rear spoiler. The mid-mounted engine cover is the same as that used on the Super Trofeo machines to improve heat dissipation. Additionally, the carbon-ceramic brake discs and yellow calipers visible through the exclusive alloy wheels are distinctive features.

The interior is predominantly black Alcantara, generously incorporating carbon fiber, creating a luxurious yet sporty ambiance. The Blancpain logos adorning the seats, the front and rear of the body, and the rear spoiler further emphasize its special status.

BRAND HISTORY
As Italy's premier sports car manufacturer, Lamborghini is often compared to Ferrari. This is entirely natural, as Lamborghini's very origin lies in the ambition to surpass Ferrari.

Ferruccio Lamborghini founded the Lamborghini sports car company in 1963, at the age of 47. After amassing wealth through tractor and air conditioning businesses post-World War II, he owned numerous sports cars, none of which satisfied him. Even Ferrari was no exception. The famous anecdote recounts that after complaining to Enzo Ferrari about his cars, he was dismissively told to "stick to driving tractors." This spurred him to establish his own brand with the explicit goal of defeating Ferrari.

Lamborghini wasted no time, unveiling the "350GTV" with its advanced V12 engine and beautiful body at the 1963 Turin Motor Show. The following year, the production version, the "350GT," was released. Subsequently, iconic models like the "Miura" and "Countach" were introduced. However, due to setbacks in the tractor business and the impact of the oil crisis, the sports car maker bearing his name eventually changed hands.

Despite undergoing several ownership changes, the Lamborghini company has experienced steady growth since coming under the Audi umbrella in 1998. Currently, the lineup includes the V12-powered "Murciélago" and the V10 "Gallardo."
