The Carrera S Feels The Best

The new 911 Carrera comes in coupe, Targa, and cabriolet body styles. For the coupe and cabriolet, you can choose between RR (rear-engine, rear-drive) and 4WD. The 'S' model is also available with a 3.6-liter or a 3.8-liter engine. The coupe lineup includes the 911 Carrera, 911 Carrera S, 911 Carrera 4, and 911 Carrera 4S, each available with either a 6-speed manual or the PDK dual-clutch transmission. Even if you decide on a coupe, there are eight basic choices before even considering color, steering wheel position, or options, making it easy to get lost. Of course, getting lost is also a luxurious pleasure.

Without a doubt, the 911 Carrera S feels the best. The rear-engined 911 is as sharp as a knife, and the S model feels as if its edge has been further honed. If the RR is a knife, then the 4 (WD) can be called a pair of sharp scissors. While certainty and safety are significantly increased, the tracing line tends to be slightly thicker (rougher). However, the 4 offers higher practicality, and if you use it for commuting or frequent trips to a vacation home, the 4 is undoubtedly the choice. If you often drive alone, the S is also a good option.

A Character That Complements the Ideal Father

If you were to ask me what I would choose, I think I would say the 911 Carrera Coupe with PDK. It allows for an extraordinary driving experience and offers a comfortable ride. It's fast and effortless. Perhaps it's my humble nature that makes me search for a tool that fits my hand rather than being captivated by a finely honed knife? However, I feel the true essence of the 911 lies in the exquisite balance of these elements.

This might be a strange analogy, but imagine your daughter, who attends a private middle school, is about to be late for school, and you decide to take a slight detour on your commute to drive her. With a 911, you could probably pull right up to the school gate without issue. Exceptionally for a spartan sports car, the 911 possesses a character that can coexist with the image of a good father. If this profound versatility is part of the 911's appeal, then the most basic 'Carrera Coupe with PDK' shines even brighter.

A Car Meticulously Crafted with Time and Money

The 911 debuted 45 years ago at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show. Porsche has now fully acquired Volkswagen (VW) and Audi, aiming to increase its stake in the group to 74% in the future and surpass Toyota. Any car enthusiast, not just Porsche fans, can immediately recognize that this new 911 has been meticulously crafted with significant investment of time and money. There is no doubt that Porsche's core model, currently enjoying a golden age, is at its peak, not only as a car but also as a 911.

BRAND HISTORY
PORSCHE is a sports car brand representing Germany, earning overwhelming support from skilled individuals worldwide. It began in 1931. Ferdinand Porsche, a genius who showed early promise as an automotive engineer in his twenties, gained experience as technical director at Daimler before establishing his own "Porsche Design Office" in Stuttgart, Germany. From then on, he was entrusted with the development of various cars by automobile manufacturers. Among these, the "Volkswagen Beetle," which greatly contributed to motorization as Germany's "people's car," is particularly famous.

The first car to bear his name as an automobile manufacturer was the "356," which appeared in 1948. Since then, Porsche has introduced sports cars such as the "911," "924," and "928" to the world, while also focusing on motorsports. For example, they have achieved 16 victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, considered the world's most grueling race, and contributed to three series championships as an engine supplier in Formula 1, achieving a brilliant track record. It goes without saying that their technological prowess and dedication to driving continue to live on in their products today.

Currently, the "911," which has maintained its reputation as a top-tier sports car even 45 years after its debut, along with the open-top sports car "Boxster," its coupe version "Cayman," and the premium sports SUV "Cayenne," all boast high popularity.
