A Portion of Sales to Support Recovery

On March 18th, Daimler Group, including Mercedes-Benz Japan and Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus, donated 2 million Euros as an initial relief effort.

The fund announced today is a joint initiative by Mercedes-Benz Japan, its authorized dealers, and Mercedes-Benz Finance. A portion of sales will be donated through the Japanese Red Cross Society to support the recovery of the affected regions.

Nicolas Speeks, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Japan, stated, "Japan is facing a historic challenge. Mercedes-Benz Japan, together with our customers and business partners, wishes to contribute in our own small way to the recovery efforts with respect and gratitude for the people of Japan affected by this disaster."

Furthermore, prior to this, Mercedes-Benz Japan decided to offer its welfare facilities at the Toyohashi Plant (Aichi Prefecture) and its training facilities at the Narashino Plant (Chiba Prefecture) as temporary shelters for disaster victims. They have already offered to accommodate a total of 70 people across both locations to relevant authorities.

The company also indicated plans for ongoing employee fundraising activities and the provision of relief supplies to the affected areas.
