Sportier Than Ever
While retaining MINI's traditional design elements such as the round headlights, hexagonal grille, and short overhangs, this design update emphasizes a sportier and more premium character.
The exterior features subtle changes throughout, including a sportier front bumper, rear combination lamps with LED lights, and a redesigned bonnet (for MINI ONE and MINI Cooper only) to further enhance pedestrian protection. Three new body colors have been added: British Racing Green II, Spice Orange, and Eclipse Grey. Inside, the air conditioning and audio control switches, previously silver, have been changed to black, emphasizing a modern and sporty image. Additionally, a new roller blind-style luggage trim, designed for the MINI Clubman, allows for smart use of the cargo space.
Standard equipment now includes the dynamic brake light function, which flashes during sudden braking to alert following vehicles, and an auto-dimming door mirror function. New interior color options have also been introduced. Furthermore, there are five new wheel variations available as options, and five seat patterns to choose from.
Notably, 10 out of MINI's 17 models now qualify for Japan's eco-car tax reduction. Since March 2010 production, all MINI vehicles are equipped with improved engines offering higher efficiency and enhanced performance. The brake energy regeneration system is standard across all models, and the engine start-stop function is available on manual transmission vehicles. This results in fuel efficiency improvements of up to approximately 33 percent and an increase in engine output of up to 9 ps. These vehicles embody the MINIMALISM concept, aiming to enhance driving performance, including engine output, while reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
