New York Collections: Fall/Winter 2010
AVEDA, a brand committed to its mission of "continuing to protect the Earth" through various activities, supported the hair styling for the Fall/Winter 2010 New York Collections for five environmentally conscious brands. The partner brands were Jason Wu, Christian Siriano, ORGANIC by John Patrick, Sophie Théallet, and Rodarte. Here, we introduce the backstage scenes from these five notable brands, along with explanations of their hairstyles!
Jason Wu
Flat Chignon
For Jason Wu's Fall/Winter 2010 collection during New York Fashion Week, Odile Gilbert, AVEDA's lead hairstylist, created a soft, romantic flat chignon using the "Smooth Infusion™ Gloss Straightener" (released May 6th) and the upcoming "Control Force™ Hair Spray."
Christian Siriano
Glamorous Updo
Antoinette Beenders, AVEDA's Global Creative Director, crafted a glamorous updo for Christian Siriano's Fall/Winter 2010 collection, inspired by 1960s Parisian chic. Discover the techniques used, featuring the "Control Force™ Hair Spray," launching this year.
ORGANIC by John Patrick
Brigitte Bardot-Inspired Pompadour
For the ORGANIC by John Patrick Fall/Winter 2010 collection, AVEDA lead hairstylist Odile Gilbert presented a modern take on Brigitte Bardot's signature pompadour. This grand, voluminous style beautifully complements the hand-woven tweeds, exuding a sense of joy.
Sophie Théallet
Country Girl Meets Princess
Antoinette Beenders, AVEDA's lead hairstylist, created a look for Sophie Théallet's Fall/Winter 2010 collection that blends a sexy, soft impression, merging the essence of a country girl with a princess. While incorporating the sweet charm of folklore, the style also features a raw texture and tousled volume.
Rodarte
Youthful, Lustrous Style
For Rodarte's Fall/Winter 2010 collection, AVEDA lead hairstylist Odile Gilbert designed a lustrous, youthful style adorned with handmade metal flowers. This season's Rodarte hairstyles are characterized by their shine and gloss, appearing both freely flowing and meticulously structured.
