"This season's Rodarte hairstyle is characterized by its shine, luster, and free-flowing yet structured appearance. The inspiration came from a modern girl who is strong and capable, yet also innocent and pure. It's a style that evokes a dreamy, girlish atmosphere, accented by striking, handmade metal flowers," says Odile Gilbert, lead hairstylist for the collection.

—Odile, what was the inspiration for this style, and how did you collaborate with the designers on its creation?

Kate and Laura Mulleavy (the sisters behind Rodarte) and I wanted to create a hairstyle that felt dreamy, like returning to childhood. From the front, it appears to simply sweep to the left, but from the back, it's neatly secured with decorative metal flowers that resemble barrettes. Rodarte's inspiration this season was 'border towns,' and there's a distinct Mexican influence throughout the collection. I wanted to reflect this in the hair, using vintage floral ornaments and a glossy side part to express it.

—How can one recreate this style at home?

It's charming and playful, perfect for daytime wear. Apply AVEDA Smooth Infusion™ Gloss Straightener to damp hair to create shine and luster. Blow-dry the hair straight with a brush, then use a flat iron to further straighten it. Inspiration: A State Between Dreams and Reality

—Kate, what was the inspiration for this collection's style, and what are you trying to express with it?

This collection expresses various aspects of somnambulism. The inspiration came from a dream state, or a state between dreams and reality.

—You made a significant effort to make this season's show "green." How do you feel about achieving that?

Laura and I are deeply committed to environmental protection, and the natural landscapes where we grew up are our greatest source of inspiration. We are proud to partner with a company like AVEDA, which champions environmental awareness and responsibility.

AVEDA STYLE: "A Luminous, Girlish Style" - How to Create the Look

1. Apply AVEDA Smooth Infusion™ Gloss Straightener to damp hair to create shine and luster. Blow-dry the hair straight with a brush.

2. Create a deep side part on the right, forming a section on the left side. Take small horizontal sections of hair and flat-iron them straight.

3. Create three thin French braids to serve as a base for the floral pins: one along the nape hairline on the left, one horizontally across the center of the head, and one vertically along the left side section. Spray with Control Force™ Hair Spray for strong hold.

4. Brush the hair over the braids, being careful to keep the left side section smooth. Take horizontal sections, spray with Control Force™ Hair Spray, and blow-dry for strong hold and shine, creating a glossy flow of hair against the head.

5. Insert small bobby pins just above the nape to secure the hair as it flows smoothly from one side of the back of the head to the other. Let the ends fall naturally down your back or over your shoulders.

6. Using the braided sections as a base, arrange the metal floral ornaments horizontally. Finish with a spray of Control Force™ Hair Spray.
