A Sexy, Soft Style with Tousled Hair Effortlessly Gathered
"This season's Sophie Théallet hairstyles are characterized by a soft, tousled, romantic feel. It's a fusion of country girl and princess. We created a textured ponytail by loosely tying and twisting the hair at the back, adding a bit of backcombing. We also left long strands around the face," says Antoinette Beenders of AVEDA, who was in charge of the collection.

—Antoinette, what was your inspiration for this style? And how did you collaborate with the designer on the styling?
This season's Sophie Théallet collection was inspired by "folklore." While incorporating the sweet atmosphere unique to folklore, we wanted to add a rough feel through a matte texture and tousled volume. The image is of a country girl who suddenly became a princess, with her tousled hair gathered effortlessly into a romantic and beautiful style.
—How can I style my hair like this myself?
This style has a sexy vibe, making it particularly suitable for evening. First, spray AVEDA's Volumizing Tonic all over your hair and dry it. Apply Pure Abundance Hair Potion to the crown and backcomb. Gather the top half of your hair at the back, twist it once to the left, secure with a pin, and then tie it with an elastic for a half-up style. Gather the bottom half of your hair and tie it just below the half-up section. Combine the two sections and pin them behind the left ear. Apply Pure Abundance Hair Potion to the ends and set with Control Force Hair Spray.

The Feeling of Receiving Your First Princess Dress and Being Captivated...
—Designer Sophie Théallet, what was your inspiration for this style? And what are you trying to express with it?
The inspiration for this season's collection comes from folklore and the timeless fairy tales familiar to girls all over the world. If we could recall those distant days hidden deep in our hearts, and revive that magical feeling of receiving your first princess dress and being captivated... that's the sentiment with which I designed.
—You made a great effort to make this season's show "green." How do you feel about achieving this?
Since the brand's inception, we have strived to be as "green" as possible. Our products are manufactured locally in New York City, and we always recycle our fabrics and printed materials. I am proud to have partnered with a wonderful brand like AVEDA, with its environmentally conscious corporate philosophy and products.
AVEDA STYLE: The Sexy, Soft "Country Girl Meets Princess" Look <How to Create the Style>

1. Spray AVEDA's Volumizing Tonic all over the head to add volume and shine (massage into the scalp). Blow-dry on a low setting.
2. Create a side part slightly off-center and set aside the hair around the face.
3. Spray Pure Abundance Hair Potion onto the remaining hair, massaging it into the scalp to create a matte texture and tousled volume.
4. Lightly backcomb the crown with a wide-tooth comb to create a matte texture. Spray with Control Force Hair Spray and set firmly.
5. Leave the hair around the face as is, create a loose half-up style at a low position, and tie with an elastic.

6. Divide the remaining hair below the half-up section into two parts. Backcomb the right half, wrap it around to cover the elastic of the half-up style, and pin it to the left of the half-up section.
7. Loosely tie the left half of the hair behind the left ear. Spray with Control Force Hair Spray.
8. Combine the hair tied in step 7 and the half-up section, and pin them together behind the left ear. Apply Pure Abundance Hair Potion to the ends while creating texture with your fingertips by backcombing. Finish with a spray of Control Force Hair Spray.
