──What is the inspiration behind the product name "SKIN-MEDITATION Time Management Essence"?

oltana, and specifically the Time Management Essence, was created with the busy modern person in mind. It is designed to be particularly effective for those experiencing sleep deprivation, fatigue, or mental stress. Furthermore, oltana is formulated to act not only on the skin but also on the mind. Our aim with oltana is to provide rest, recovery, and revitalization for both skin and spirit.

Modern individuals, often lacking time for self-reflection, can become irritable, feel overwhelmed by time, and appear fatigued or even negative due to stress. Our sub-brand name, "Skin Meditation," reflects this concept: a positive skincare ritual that allows users to reconnect with themselves, even for a short time, by closing their eyes, feeling the hydration and absorption on their skin, and taking slow, deep breaths. It's a way to reset tired skin and stress, both morning and night.

──Why did you choose a "high-performance cosmetic liquid" as the first product?

Because we were confident it would be a foundational, multi-functional item that would be loved for a long time. The "Time Management Essence," as the signature item of oltana, is not just high-performance but also multi-functional. It delivers comprehensive anti-aging care in a single bottle. Its time-management design, with distinct actions for day and night, protects the skin from UV rays and environmental damage during the day, and enhances the skin's natural repair functions at night. It All Began with an Encounter with Shu Uemura



──You mentioned it was "born after 12 years of development." Could you tell us about that journey?

It all started about 12 years ago when I met Shu Uemura and shared my vision for the "oltana" brand. He highly appreciated the concept of an alternative power cosmetic focused on the relationship between fatigue and aging, and of high-performance skincare sold online. This transformed "oltana" from a mere dream into a tangible goal and prompted my transition from the creative industry to the marketing world.

Since then, I've been involved in marketing and product development for a wide range of brands, from prestige to organic. Then, about two and a half years ago, Yuko Isami, who has extensive experience in brand marketing at multinational corporations, joined us as Marketing Director. Together, we launched "oltana."

──You describe it as "genderless, ageless, and for all skin types." Who would you recommend it to?

We want people who are searching for effective skincare that delivers tangible results and can be used consistently to try it. "oltana" is an evidence-based cosmetic developed by a team of experts with extensive experience in product development within the cosmetics industry, including formulation development for world-renowned prestige skincare brands. It is based on the latest skin science and scientific evidence. ──What products do you plan to release from the brand in the future?

We are currently developing a high-performance cleansing foam in a mousse format. It has received top ratings in all test phases. We are planning for its release around next spring, so please look forward to it.
