Grand Sports Specialty Store "SEIBU SPORTS" Opens

Four Categories on the 8th Floor of Seibu Ikebukuro Main Store

"SEIBU SPORTS," the grand sports specialty store, enhances four key areas: "Athletic," offering accessible sports like running; "Wellness," promoting healthy body conditioning through exercise and swimming; "Outdoor," covering a wide range of activities from mountains to the sea; and "Golf," adapting to specialized gear and evolving fashion trends. Notably, the outdoor section introduces "Oshman's," a group sports specialty retailer.

A highlight is the new "Karada Station" (Body Station), a consultation service for building a healthy body through sports. Under the supervision of Professor Naito from Juntendo University's Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences, specialized staff, including health managers and registered dietitians, will provide advice on exercise, physical activity, and diet based on measurements of body composition and muscle balance using specialized equipment, supporting customers in their journey to a healthier body through sports.

The curated "Shoes & Gear" section transcends brand boundaries, offering a lineup from fitness walking to running. Edited to suit various levels of athletic engagement, it features 21 brands and 1,200 pairs of shoes, realizing one of Japan's largest selections. Furthermore, with a focus on certified shoefitters, the store uses foot scanners and pressure measurement devices to recommend shoes that perfectly fit each individual, also offering consultations on insoles and shoe maintenance.

The "Oshman's" area is primarily composed of American brands such as "Patagonia," "Arc'teryx," and "Columbia," alongside existing brands like "Aigle," "The North Face," "Foxfire," and "Hidamari Sanso," creating a unique outdoor world.

Within each sports category, 44 "Masters"—specialized professionals wearing red vests, equipped with both expert knowledge and technical skills—are stationed to assist with various consultations and requests, adding to the store's appeal.
