A Gentle Scent and Packaging by a Japanese Artist

Kyoto, Japan's esteemed ancient capital, and Florence, Italy, with its lingering Renaissance charm, became sister cities in September 1965, marking their 50th anniversary this year. To celebrate this milestone, various economic and cultural exchanges are actively taking place between Kyoto and Florence. In June, a ceremony was held in Florence to commemorate the 50th anniversary of their sister city affiliation, which also included the signing of a reaffirmation agreement to deepen the friendship and exchange between the two cities.

The packaging for the "Cinquanta" eau de cologne, released to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the sister city relationship, features a scenic painting by Teppei Sasakura, an artist active both domestically and internationally. The artwork depicts the historic landscape of Florence, with its iconic cathedral dome, and the cityscape of the ancient capital as seen from the "Shōrai Garden," a Japanese garden built in Florence, all within a single piece.

The scent of Cinquanta begins with top notes of gardenia, orange blossom, and tiare, leading to a noble base of musk and amber.
