Oil Extracted from a Nut as Mysterious as the Amazon Forest

Fabian Lliguin, the founder of RAHUA, was born in Ecuador, South America, and grew up surrounded by a family of hairdressers. He honed his skills as a stylist after studying under Vidal Sassoon in New York in the 1980s, and later opened his own salon in the city. In the 1990s, he learned of the environmental destruction occurring in his native Amazon region. He returned to Ecuador to witness the situation firsthand and, confronted by its severity, began to consider what he could do for his homeland. He established "Eco Agents" to protect the local communities.

During his work with Eco Agents, Fabian noticed the beautiful hair of the Quechua women living there. They attributed this to the use of an oil extracted from a nut called "Rahua," which is said to maintain healthy, lustrous hair and possess remarkable restorative properties. Intrigued by this oil, he brought it back to his New York salon and tested it, receiving an overwhelmingly positive response. Believing he could save the Amazonian communities with this Rahua oil, he developed products in cooperation with the Quechua people, leading to the brand's birth in 2007.

Rahua oil has extremely small particles, allowing it to penetrate and repair hair damaged by dryness, coloring, or perms, while protecting the cuticle. It is the most crucial ingredient in RAHUA haircare products. This oil is harvested using methods passed down through generations by the Quechua people and processed by the local women.
