The innovative new active ingredient "TXC (Tranexamic Acid Cetyl Ester)" is the result of cutting-edge whitening research that CHANEL Research & Technology has been pursuing since the establishment of its Japan laboratory in 2002. Nine years of dedicated development by CHANEL Research & Technology and its Japanese counterpart have finally borne fruit. Recognized at international conferences, it debuts as a new product in Spring 2011.

This "TXC" is an ester with an aliphatic hydrocarbon chain, possessing a structure that ensures deep penetration to the deepest layer of the epidermis, allowing the ingredient to work more effectively on the skin. Once it penetrates the skin cells, it is gradually transformed and released into active molecules over 12 hours by the action of the naturally occurring enzyme esterase in the skin, delivering its effects. The result is a newfound level of whiteness, brightness, radiance, and clarity for the skin.

"TXC" is CHANEL's proprietary ingredient, approved as a new pharmaceutical whitening agent – a first for a foreign-affiliated company. It is born from CHANEL Research & Technology's advanced vision and innovative capabilities in the field of skin whitening.

CHANEL's Approach to Whitening Challenges

CHANEL's perspective on whitening challenges lies not in completely halting melanin production, but in achieving a delicate balance where an appropriate amount of melanin is generated.

Based on the understanding that melanin protection is essential for healthy skin cells, the polyactive ingredient "TXC" was created to simultaneously address various concerns with a single component, optimizing the balance of melanin production.

It controls the chain reaction of pigmentation from the skin's surface to the melanocytes, inhibiting melanin production, preventing the formation of dark spots, and leading to a more even skin tone.

The new skincare and makeup products will be launched on Friday, February 25, 2011. We anticipate great things from CHANEL's pioneering advancements in whitening.
