Expressing a Refreshing Mood of a Stroll in the Garden

What was the inspiration behind the makeup for this show?

Focusing on the eyes! The color palette was decided by looking at Karl Lagerfeld's sketches, and we opted for a deep, dark smoky eye. The set design, a French garden, featured a graphical black and white design. Drawing inspiration from this, we created a contrasting makeup look. It's not just jet black, nor pure white. It's a makeup that plays with light and shadow, using extremely graphical dark colors and white lines, with touches of fresh, luminous color here and there.

What about the eye makeup?

For the eyes, we used the dark shades from Les 4 Ombres “#20 Clair-Obscur” (New Spring 2011 color). The strength of this pearly black eyeshadow and its iridescence, shifting between black, gray, and green, bring light to the eyes. It also complements accessories that change color in various ways.

After curling the lashes with an eyelash curler, we applied Inimitable Waterproof Mascara “#10 Noir.” The brows were sculpted and defined with Crayon Sourcils (scheduled for release in June 2011).

The foundation and lipstick have very spring-like colors.

We used Pro Lumière foundation. While enhancing the model's natural skin tone,
it creates a natural, luminous, professional complexion. On the C-zone, from the temples to the cheekbones,
we applied Poudre Lumière Perlé (scheduled for release in February 2011). This adds more radiance and luminosity, emphasizing the smoky eyes.

To express the refreshing mood of a stroll in the garden, we lightly applied Joues Contraste “#65 Espiègle” (New Spring 2011 color) to the cheeks. For the lips, we chose Rouge Coco Shine “#54 Boy” (scheduled for release in April 2011). The subtle, soft pink brings a delicate and fresh impression.

To further enhance the graphical makeup, we applied Vernis “#511 Pearl Drop” (New Spring 2011 color) to the toenails. The pearly white with a golden undertone harmonizes perfectly with the white marble floor. For the fingernails, we used Vernis “#513 Black Pearl” (New Spring 2011 color), creating the impression of holding black pearls on the fingertips.

Finally, we drew a vertical black line along the parting of the hair with the pen-type liquid eyeliner, Écriture de Chanel, completing the look.
