I have an inexplicable urge to wear white. Especially simple pieces like shirts and T-shirts. A white shirt or tee is the best way to showcase your neutral presence. It feels like returning to the origin of fashion, or perhaps to my roots.

This Spring/Summer, Pure White Styles Abound!

Since my debut as a fashion model, I've often worn white shirts, aiming to present my natural self without pretense or artifice. They convey freshness, clarity, purity, and innocence.—Perfect for the bright season ahead. This season's spring/summer trends also featured many pure white pieces. Jil Sander's white long skirt was lovely, and Louis Vuitton's white lace dress was so cute.

A White Outfit of the Day

My current favorite is a crisp white top from "YOKO CHAN," which I pre-ordered at a showroom. It's light, comfortable, and features a stylish V-neck in the back. I paired it with a slightly lustrous jacket from "ZADIG&VOLTAIRE." The masculine beige hat is from "Freak's Store Cat Street." And my pure white cotton pants are from "agnès b." The all-white coordination feels fresh and energizing. It makes me want to reflect on myself, returning to my roots.

Maintaining the White

White items need to stay pristine. My favorite white pieces, even simple T-shirts, are washed individually. I'm particular about my detergent, too (laughs). Using detergents tailored for delicates, denim, or colors, depending on the fabric, helps them last longer.

Recently, I've been using "The Laundress," a detergent created in New York by two fabric specialists who deeply understand textiles. Their "White Detergent" for pure white clothing is a particular favorite and gets used up quickly!

Unfortunately, I've run out and don't have any on hand right now, but it's excellent. Using detergent suited to the fabric might seem professional, but it's good to be able to manage the care of your cherished clothes to this extent.

Whitening Skincare

It's that time of year again to switch to "whitening care." This season, I've noticed several products containing pearl ingredients, which intrigues me. Pearls are formed from layers of natural protein, creating their beautiful white luster. It's quite mystical. Harnessing nature's power in cosmetics, combined with cutting-edge technology, enhances their effectiveness.

Here, I'd like to introduce Guerlain's new product, "Blanc de Perle." Back in 1830, they famously introduced the whitening power of pearls into their products with "Blanc de Perle," which became a bestseller. This season, as an homage to "Blanc de Perle," Guerlain's oldest skincare creation, a new whitening line bearing the same name, "Perle Blanche," is born.

Using premium natural pearls from Uwajima, they've developed and incorporated the unique P.E.A.R.L. Complex, a new whitening ingredient, through proprietary technology. Among the products, the Roll-on Mask (medicated whitening mask) is particularly unique. Its roll-on applicator provides a gentle massage effect, making it a fun mask to use. Aiming for translucent, beautiful skin like a pearl, I want to commit to my whitening care.
