Experience a Treatment Menu That Transports You to a Balinese Resort!
The spa and treatment facilities at Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Chinzan-so, 'Yu Yu, THE SPA at Four Seasons,' offer a truly wonderful space. The lineup is extensive, featuring original products and treatments from the UK's Elemis, among others. What caught my eye was the limited-time opportunity to experience 'Bale Experience 2010,' an original menu from Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay, which offers traditional Balinese treatments.

Exfoliate Your Entire Body This Season for Sun-Kissed Skin!
Highly recommended for this time of year is the 'Lulur Jimbaran' (120 minutes), a traditional Balinese treatment. I've experienced this popular menu at the Four Seasons Bali spa before. The treatment in a room with a garden bath, just like in Bali, is simply divine. It involves a scrub with 'lulur' made from turmeric, sandalwood, and ginger, followed by a yogurt treatment.
First, a full-body massage using a blend of Balinese oil and creams with basil and ylang-ylang softens the skin thoroughly. The scrub is applied evenly over the entire body, which is coated in a veil of oil and cream, so it's very gentle on the skin without direct strain. The yellow hue of the lulur doesn't stain the skin at all; when I peeked during the scrub, it felt like my body was coated in coarsely ground black pepper. Without rinsing off the lulur, the yogurt mask is applied, and by this time, the yellow color from the turmeric is no longer noticeable.
After showering and rinsing, it's time for the garden bath! Listening to the sound of running water makes for a blissful bath time. To finish, the skin is thoroughly moisturized with a lotion containing aloe vera, bergamot, and vanilla. Old keratin is removed, leaving the skin smooth and radiant. Exfoliating your entire body is highly recommended during this season when skin is prone to sun exposure, as it prevents uneven tanning.
Enjoy a Resort Getaway Without Traveling Far, at an Affordable Price
It's astonishing that such a luxurious environment and high-quality resort menu are available at such an exceptional price (Lulur Jimbaran, 120 minutes, ¥20,000). Also recommended is the 'Synchronized Massage' (60 minutes), which offers the exquisite harmony of two therapists, available at a special price this season. It's wonderful to enjoy a resort気分 without having to travel far.
After the treatment, I also enjoyed a special Asian-inspired lunch at the casual dining restaurant. The scallop carpaccio with lemongrass and sambal sauce dressing, and the white fish and steamed tofu with coconut curry flavor were all delicious and very healthy, with around 400 calories.
This was an experience of a limited-time menu, perfect for a treat to yourself or for those looking to try a luxury spa for the first time. I hope you find it helpful.

The 'Bale Experience 2010' is scheduled to end at the end of June, but according to the spa manager, there's a possibility the treatment period might be extended. Since this isn't confirmed, please call to check after June.
