Surrounded by Wonderful Scents
Scents have become indispensable in creating a rich, relaxing lifestyle.
It's a privilege of my work, but I get to experience the latest fragrances early on. I also enjoy choosing my favorites from among them and incorporating them into my life. I feel like there will be many wonderful scents this year in particular.

A Wealth of Exquisite Fragrances This Year
Is 2010 a Banner Year for Fragrance? Perhaps (laughs)
One that left a strong impression, for example, is "Beneficial Water" from the luxury skincare brand KENZOKI. While it's a skincare product, it was renewed in June with enhanced skincare functions and fragrance elements, making its concept unique: a long-lasting, aromatic skincare that can also be used as an eau de cologne. What's more, each scent is described with words that express its world. Words like "SPLUSH" or "FIZZ." For instance, the green bamboo "Energizing Beneficial Water" (for moisturizing and skin revitalization) is accompanied by the word "SPLUSH." It expresses the refreshing sensation of splashing water with the sound "splash." By keeping these sound expressions in mind while using it, you can enjoy the product's benefits and aroma more fully, engaging all your senses. I sometimes spritz it not just on my body, but also into the air.
Also exquisite was "Eau de Shalimar 2010 Eau de Toilette," a modern and fresh take on one of Guerlain's classic masterpieces, which was released as a limited edition again this year. The newly updated "Shalimar Eau de Parfum" is also lovely. The slightly powdery feel feels fresh again now. This fragrance was created by the third-generation perfumer Jacques Guerlain, who was moved by the tale of the fated love between an Indian emperor and empress in the 17th century, which inspired the Taj Mahal. Although the fragrance was first released in 1925, this season's limited edition has been re-envisioned with enhanced transparency and a more refreshing scent while retaining its original impression, making it feel both classic and new.
Fragrances have stories, so I believe you can form a more captivating relationship with them by imagining those stories as you use them. I'm also using the new "Flora Nymphea" from Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria line. I've already finished one bottle of Chanel's "Chance Eau Tendre" Eau de Toilette. The advertising visual of a girl embracing the Chance bottle, adorned with red flowers, was truly adorable. I also take Hermes' "Voyage d'Hermes" Eau de Toilette, with its innovative, modern, high-tech bottle design, and the refreshing "Miss Pucci" by Emilio Pucci with me on trips.
In this way, I encounter one wonderful scent after another, making it hard to choose just one. I line up my favorite fragrances on a tray and switch between them depending on my mood for the day. Whether in skincare or fragrance, scents play a very important role in my life!
