<strong>RIKEN YAMAMOTO</strong><br />Born in 1945. Completed graduate studies in architecture at Tokyo University of the Arts in 1971. Established Riken Yamamoto & Field Shop in 1973. Professor at the Graduate School of Yokohama National University from 2007-2011. Major works include the Saitama Prefectural University, Future University of Hakodate, and Yokosuka Museum of Art. He has also designed mixed-use facilities, public buildings, and housing complexes in Tianjin, Beijing, Seoul, and Taipei. Recipient of numerous awards, including the Architectural Institute of Japan Prize for his work in 1988 and 2002, the Mainichi Art Prize in 1998, and the Japan Art Academy Prize in 2000. His major publications include "Community-Centric Housing: Expanded and Revised Edition" (LIXIL Publishing) and "RIKEN YAMAMOTO: Architecture of Riken Yamamoto" (TOTO Publishing).
