Entrance. The noren, depicting parts of pork offal, is utterly charming.

The grill area.
The fan for the grill area. Its square shape directs air only to the grill.
Popular Japanese sake.
Sashimi of horse mackerel. The fried bones are served alongside from the start.
Grilled pork. Available with salt or tare sauce.
Assortment of smoked dishes. Pairs well with sake or wine.
Yamariki's signature stew pairs wonderfully with red wine and garlic toast.
Only beef tripe and gizzard are carefully stewed. The cast iron pot, visible from the counter, is exquisite.
Pork and chicken liver terrine.
Kusaya. Naturally, it pairs with Japanese sake, but surprisingly also with white wine.
Floor manager Takehito Mizukami (left) is a sommelier and can recommend wines to complement your meal.
Wine and Western dishes at an izakaya can be quite delightful.
