<strong>HIGHLAND PARK</strong> - Highland Park, founded in 1978 on the Orkney Islands, where Norse and Scottish cultures intersect.
<strong>HIGHLAND PARK</strong> - Highland Park still produces 20% of its malt by hand, a process involving stirring water-soaked barley at regular intervals to create malt.
<strong>HIGHLAND PARK</strong> - In Orkney, where trees do not grow, peat is harvested differently than in other parts of Scotland. Highland Park uses peat hand-cut from three distinct layers, imparting a unique floral smokiness to the malt.
<strong>HIGHLAND PARK</strong> - The whisky rests in a cool environment, with summer temperatures around 15°C and winter temperatures rarely dropping below freezing. The humid climate also results in a lower Angel's Share (the portion of whisky lost to evaporation during maturation) compared to drier regions on the mainland.
