Textile designer and associate professor at Tokyo University of the Arts. After graduating from Tama Art University's Department of Textile Design, she worked at Hiroshi Awatsuji Design Office. She became independent in 1995 and established Unpiatto Inc. in 2002. Since 2005, she has been running the fabric brand "OTTAIPNU." Her collections, featuring vibrant hand-printed fabrics such as those dyed by artisans and dobby weaves from old looms, showcase the inherent charm of textiles. In addition to her own brand, she has designed for the long-established Finnish brand "marimekko" since 2010. She currently participates in projects for various domestic and international manufacturers and brands.
