The "Laurel," born in 1913 as Japan's first wristwatch, at a time when pocket watches were mainstream. At the time, daily production was about 30 units, compared to 200 for pocket watches. It retains the feel of a pocket watch in the details of its round, chrysanthemum-shaped crown and hands.
