The "ultra-thin" manual-winding movement, Caliber 6898, which can be enjoyed visually from the case back, is engraved with motifs inspired by President Hattori's beloved Enoshima, seagulls, yachts, sharks, mola mola, and crabs, with the upper half representing the sky and the lower half the sea. Notably, a fish wearing glasses is depicted as "Shinji-Uo," a persona of President Hattori.
