It features the EXPEED 3 image processing engine, also found in the professional D4, D800, and D800E models. It has an optical viewfinder with approximately 0.7x magnification and 100% frame coverage. The AF system has 39 focus points. The magnesium alloy body is dust- and drip-resistant. The body features magnesium alloy for the front and rear covers, and resin for the top cover, with dust- and drip-resistance. It includes GPS and WiFi functionality.
