<b>Tomoki Sukezane x TASAKI</b> | "First, I wondered if there were any pearls that didn't shine. I asked if we could make them rough, or covered in scratches, and this is what came back. They have a wonderful luster," says Sukezane.

<b>Tomoki Sukezane x TASAKI</b> | "It was surprising because it's an idea we would never have. We tried various methods to see how it could be done (laughs). After much discussion, we decided to use a sandblaster to spray coarse sand," says Shinonaga.

<b>Tomoki Sukezane x TASAKI</b> | Pearls after the damage treatment. "They're incredible. Even with the damage treatment, the pearl's luster remains exquisitely. I always felt pearl luster was feminine, but these are something I, as a man, can wear without hesitation," says Sukezane.

<b>Tomoki Sukezane x TASAKI</b> | "Based on the original mold, we create a female mold from rubber, which is then used to create wax patterns. Then, the wax becomes the male pattern, and we create a female mold called a casting mold, into which we pour molten 18-karat gold," explains Shinonaga.

<b>Tomoki Sukezane x TASAKI</b> | Some of the various files actually used in the production process. "Craftsmen use dozens of files like these—coarse, medium, fine, concave, flat—to polish the metal," says Shinonaga.
