Also from "Vajiani Company," the Marani winery, where qvevri are housed. Buried in the ground beneath the floor, the qvevri function as fermentation and storage tanks.
Qvevri. At the prestigious "Vajiani Company," which produces high-quality qvevri wine in accordance with tradition, 200 ancient qvevri were unearthed from the ground during the reconstruction of the winery facilities in 2012. According to an appraisal, they were over 120 years old. These qvevri are precious, as their interiors are not treated with beeswax. Forty of these have been repurposed.
