At Patek Philippe's international customer service restoration workshops, repairs and restorations are carried out daily.
Since its founding in 1839, the company guarantees the repair and restoration of all models produced over more than 170 years. This philosophy, pride, and expertise are passed down to technicians today, with repairs and overhauls performed daily.
The workshops store approximately 5 million parts, and if a part is unavailable, it is reproduced.
To ensure immediate response to any restoration need, Patek Philippe even stocks dials.
The dial of the "Twenty~4®", which inherits Art Deco elegance. The diverse dials for ladies' models are also carefully stocked, one by one.
The loupe worn by the artisan on their right eye is called a 'kizumi'. Like a magnifying glass, it enlarges the object being viewed. The commonly used type offers 4-5x magnification.
Polishing the pivots of gears. It is said that mastering this extremely delicate task takes about 10 years.
Working at Patek Philippe's restoration workshop is considered one of the most challenging positions in the Swiss watchmaking industry.
A manual machine tool for cutting gear teeth. Museum-quality machine tools like this are actually used in restoration work.
The teeth are cut one by one using a lathe set at a right angle. Then, the tooth edges are precisely shaped through polishing. For one timepiece, the production of its gears alone required 173 hours.
Restoring gears is a task demanding a high level of delicacy and precision. The artisans perform this painstaking work with unwavering focus.
The Patek Philippe Geneva flagship boutique, fully renovated in 2006. The exterior was intentionally left untouched, while the interior was updated to a modern aesthetic.
The Patek Philippe Museum, located in the heart of Geneva. Here, the company's precious timepieces are exhibited chronologically.
Using boxwood coated with polishing compound, the thickness of the baseplate is slightly reduced to create beautiful vertical stripes, known as Côtes de Genève.
The Patek Philippe headquarters in Plan-les-Ouates, a suburb of Geneva. The large sculpture is a representation of a hairspring.
Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom (1819-1901) was among Patek Philippe's esteemed clientele. In 1851, a pendant watch was presented to Queen Victoria at the Great Exhibition in London.
The building on the right housed the workshop and boutique salon of Patek, Czapek & Cie., the predecessor to Patek Philippe (in 1841).
The company's client ledgers, preserved as valuable historical documents, detail customer names, years of sale, material costs, sales representatives, and prices.
