Marc Newson Designs a Teapot
Internationally acclaimed industrial designer Marc Newson has crafted a sterling silver tea set for GEORG JENSEN, the Danish royal warrant holder with 111 years of history. This tea set, limited to 10 sets worldwide and available exclusively by bespoke order with no retail sales, commemorates the opening of Georg Jensen's largest Asian flagship store, "House of Georg Jensen," in Beijing on September 26th (Saturday).

First Collaboration with Marc Newson Realized
This significant collaboration with Marc Newson marks Georg Jensen's first partnership with a contemporary artist since their collaboration with Verner Panton in 1988. The exclusive collection, limited to 10 bespoke sets worldwide, is signed by Marc Newson himself.
The tea set collection, meticulously handcrafted with hammered finishes over three months in the Georg Jensen workshop at its Copenhagen headquarters, comprises five pieces: a teapot, coffee pot, creamer, sugar pot, and tray.
The handles of the teapot and coffee pot are fashioned from fossilized, exportable mammoth bone, while the edges of the tray are adorned with natural rattan.
In this collection, Marc Newson expresses his dedication to dynamic forms by designing a small, slide-open lid on the upper part of the teapot and coffee pot.
A Masterpiece of Exquisite Proportion, Dedicated to Predecessors
The collection began with high-precision 3D prototypes in its early development stages. By merging the exceptional silversmithing skills of Georg Jensen with cutting-edge industrial techniques, the collection gains a modern, contemporary aesthetic. It is imbued with a natural, evocative spirit reminiscent of the organic forms embraced by founder Georg Jensen over a century ago.
A beautiful anecdote is that the first commemorative set was crafted by a third-generation silversmith whose grandfather worked alongside Georg Jensen himself.
