Exhibition of Architecture by Six Young Architects Held | AAF Gallery

Haruka Uemura. Born in Kyoto Prefecture. Graduated from the Department of Architecture and Design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in the Netherlands in 2011. Completed the Master's program at the Studio for Immediate Spaces at the Sandberg Instituut, also in the Netherlands, in 2013. Currently enrolled in the doctoral program at the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Waseda University. Based in the Netherlands since 2007, she has been involved in a variety of projects ranging from material development to pavilions, residences, and landscapes, including a collaborative project for a lunar base at the European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC). After working at offices such as Anne Holtrop, she founded Uemura Architecture Lab and co-founded ONDEL DE LINDE in 2014.

Shotaro Okada. Born in Ishikawa Prefecture. Graduated from the Department of Environmental Design, Faculty of Design, Kyushu University in 2014. Established Shotaro Okada Architecture Design Office Co., Ltd. in the same year. Received the Kyushu University Academic Research Award and won first prize in the Sendai Design League Graduation Project Competition 2014.

Yasuhiro Kaneda. Graduated from the Department of Architecture and Building Engineering, Shibaura Institute of Technology in 2007 (Maruyama Hiroshi Laboratory). Worked at the structural design firm ASA / Suzuki Kei from 2007 to 2012, handling approximately 80 diverse projects. Subsequently worked at Bollinger + Grohmann Paris Office, contributing to facades for OMA's École Centrale Paris and Renzo Piano's Pathe Foundation office, as well as Tsuyoshi Tane/DGT's proposal for the New National Stadium competition. Since 2014, he has led yasuhirokaneda STRUCTURE, based in Paris and Tokyo. Currently, projects are underway with architects in Japan, France, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, and Romania.

Naoya Kitamura. Born in Gifu Prefecture. Graduated from the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Science and Technology, Nihon University in 2003. Completed the Master's program at the Graduate School of Science and Technology, Keio University, Department of Environmental Science and Technology (Kazuyo Sejima Laboratory) in 2006. After working at Nakayama Hideyuki Architects from 2007 to 2011, he established Naoya Kitamura Architects in 2012. Major works include "House in the Countryside" (structure by Takeshi Kaneko Structural Engineers) and the exhibition "Paper and Structure Exhibition - Handmade Structures" (collaboration with Yasutaka Konishi Structural Engineers), organized by Takeo. Ongoing projects include "K Residence," "A Residence," "Pottery Room for the Village Headman's House," "K Residence Renovation," and "Y Hotel Renovation."

Kenta Sato. Born in Miyagi Prefecture. Graduated from the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Science and Technology, Tokyo University of Science in 2005. Completed graduate studies at the same university in 2007. After graduation, worked at moriko kira architect in the Netherlands. Since 2010, has participated in drftwd projects, organized by artist Arno van der Mark. Since 2012, he has been a partner in Project Office, involved in all projects. His approach transcends boundaries, encompassing public art, architecture, landscape, and research at an urban scale. He is also involved in the production and curation of contemporary art. In April 2015, he co-founded studio niko with Naohiro Sasamoto, operating from Amsterdam and Tokyo.

Fumiko Takahama. Born in Kobe. Graduated from the Department of Architecture, Kyoto University in 2003. After graduate studies at the University of Tokyo, she studied abroad at ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich). Following internships at Christian Kerez and HHF Architects, she completed her Master's program at ETH Zurich in 2007. Worked at Herzog & de Meuron until 2012. Moved her base to Japan in 2012 and established +ft+ / Fumiko Takahama Architects, also taking on a position as a researcher at Kobe University. Since 2013, she has been a project researcher at the University of Tokyo. Her works since returning to Japan include "Flat with Exhibition Walls" and "Kobe Community Cycle Port / kobelin." Her publications include "Working in Architecture Abroad" (co-authored, Gakujutsu Shuppan).
