MITSUKOSHI | Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store<br />Mitsuru Urakami of Urakami Sōkyūdō, a specialist dealer in East Asian antiquities, who is in charge of sales for "Hokusai Manga" at the exhibition "Welcome to the World of Hokusai Manga" held at Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store from August 12 (Wed.).

MITSUKOSHI | Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store<br />Mr. Mitsuru Urakami is famous as the world's foremost collector of "Hokusai Manga," a collection of approximately 4,000 drawings in 15 volumes, which the genius Edo-period artist Katsushika Hokusai described as "drawings made casually as the mood struck."
MITSUKOSHI | Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store<br />"Urakami Sōkyūdō" primarily deals in ancient ceramics from China, the Korean Peninsula, and Japan, as well as bronze wares, lacquerware, and ukiyo-e prints. The shop's name, "Sōkyūdō," was given by the author Masao Tatenari, and his handwritten plaque hangs in the store.
MITSUKOSHI | Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store<br />Born in 1951, Mitsuru Urakami joined the long-established antique dealer "Mayuyama & Co., Ltd." after graduating from university. After five years of training, he went independent and established "Urakami Sōkyūdō" in Nihonbashi 3-chome.
