Three new models from the "Sokyō" series have been released by "CAMPANOLA," a watch brand developed by Citizen Watch. The theme is to reflect the beauty of the universe on the wrist, with models that express Japanese aesthetics, particularly the beauty of lacquer dials.

The design of the "Sokyō" series is inspired by Heian-era poetry. This poem contemplates the connection between the stars and human life while gazing at the starry sky reflected in water cupped in one's hands. The lacquer dial is an artistic representation of this scene. Each model employs a unique lacquer technique, exuding its own distinct charm.

The limited-edition mechanical model, "NZ0000-58L," is equipped with a movement made by La Joux-Perret in Switzerland. Its lacquer dial expresses the shimmering depths of nebulae by scattering and polishing platinum powder. Furthermore, the radiance of stars is depicted through raden (mother-of-pearl inlay) and maki-e (gold lacquer) techniques applied to the dial. This dial is the work of Tetsuo Gido, a traditional craftsman from Aizu lacquerware, and it comes with a deep navy lacquer bezel ring.

Next, the "AH4080-01M" is a Grand Complication model featuring four complex mechanisms: a minute repeater, moon phase, perpetual calendar, and chronograph. To express the brilliance of the galaxy, it features a design using raden inlay on lacquer, with hand-applied lacquer gradients creating a shimmering effect of light.

Finally, the "BU0020-20L" is equipped with the light-powered Eco-Drive movement and uses navy lacquer mixed with metallic powder. This model captures the twinkling of stars on the sub-dial at the 6 o'clock position. The bezel ring and the LWG-certified alligator leather strap are also unified in navy, creating a sophisticated ambiance.

The "Sokyō" series combines artistic design with high functionality. It is a collection of models that can be considered art pieces, embodying beauty found in poetry. These are undoubtedly special watches that allow you to feel the mystery and beauty of the universe on your wrist.
