The Grand Seiko Boutique Flagship Wako Opens, Alongside the Grand Seiko Wako Limited Edition to Commemorate the Brand's 60th Anniversary

A limited edition Wako model of Grand Seiko, the pinnacle of Japanese watchmaking celebrating its 60th anniversary, has been announced. It features a stylish green dial inspired by the pine needles of the Nanbu Akamatsu, the prefectural tree of Iwate where the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi is located, and will be available in a limited quantity of just 60 pieces.

The Wako Limited Edition with a Stylish Green Dial

The Wako main building, a landmark in Ginza, completed its renovation and reopened in August 2020. The first floor became the Wako Watch Square, featuring 13 domestic and international brands, while the second floor transformed into a true luxury floor, the "Wako Watch & Jewelry Square," comprising a watch square and a jewelry square. Within the watch square, the unparalleled flagship boutique "Grand Seiko Boutique Flagship Wako," where one can fully immerse in the world of Grand Seiko, and the "Credor Salon," boasting Japan's most comprehensive collection, were established.

To commemorate this occasion, a Wako limited edition model of Grand Seiko, the pinnacle of Japanese watchmaking celebrating its 60th anniversary, was released on Thursday, October 22, 2020. Based on the modern case of the "44GS," which established the "Seiko Style," this model features a popular green dial.

Furthermore, it boasts a stylish radial pattern, inspired by the pine needles of the Nanbu Akamatsu, the prefectural tree of Iwate where the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi is located and where Grand Seiko's mechanical watches are crafted. The red GMT hand, indicating a second time zone, provides a sharp contrast to this dial design.

This model comes with both an SS bracelet and a matte medium-gray crocodile leather strap, allowing for a change in style to enjoy different atmospheres.
