Introducing the First White Dial for the Ressence Type 3

Belgian watch brand RESSENCE has unveiled the "Type3W," the first white dial for its oil-filled mechanical watch, the "Type3."

Intuitive Movement and Legibility. Simple Beauty Without Ornamentation

RESSENCE, a brand constantly striving to break the mold of mechanical watchmaking, has introduced a clean-styled white dial to its "Type3," the world's first oil-filled mechanical watch.

A hallmark of RESSENCE is the "Ressence Orbital Convex System (ROCS)," a proprietary module developed in-house, common to the "Type1," "Type2," and now the "Type3."

This unit allows the dial to continuously move in a manner resembling celestial bodies in orbit, its primary objective being to convey time more effectively, fundamentally differing from traditional time-display mechanisms.

Furthermore, the "Type3" faced the significant challenge of ensuring the escapement vibrated correctly within a viscous liquid. This was resolved by adopting a two-chamber system, separating the mechanical compartment from the oil-filled compartment.

Due to this separation, there is no direct connection between the watch's movement and the ROCS. To bridge this, a magnetic transmission is used to connect the modules. Multiple micro-magnets are placed in the upper, oil-filled chamber and the lower, oil-free chamber, utilizing their mutual attraction.

To counteract the volume fluctuations of the oil caused by temperature changes, the watch incorporates a system of seven small bellows, known as a bellows system, which contract and expand in response to the oil's volume changes.

The clean purity born from the combination of whiteness and a dial floating in oil. Intuitive movement, legibility, and simple beauty eschewing ornamentation eloquently speak to the brand's unique identity.
