Reproducing the patterns created by wind sculpting deep snow

The first Grand Seiko GMT was born in 2002, followed by the Chronograph in 2007. With the advent of these two complication movements, the brand's world expanded significantly, adapting to various lifestyles.
In 2022, as these complication movements reach their milestones, two models will be released in limited quantities: the "Sport Collection Grand Seiko Chronograph 15th Anniversary Limited Model" and the "Sport Collection Grand Seiko GMT 20th Anniversary Limited Model," both featuring Spring Drive movements, to reaffirm our commitment to our origins and mark a new step forward.
Both models, featuring a special pure white dial, express "Shukabra," the majestic art created by nature in the Northern Alps, near the "Studio of Time Grand Seiko" where Spring Drive models are born. Shukabra refers to the patterns formed when wind carves deep snow, with the Shukabra in early spring exhibiting particularly rugged formations. This scenery, where the art of the snowfield resonates with the clear blue sky, evokes the dynamism born from the energy of nature and the flow of time, aligning with Grand Seiko's brand philosophy, "THE NATURE OF TIME."
The "Caliber 9R96"搭載 in the Chronograph model is a movement specially adjusted for higher precision than the "Caliber 9R86." While the "Caliber 9R86" has an average monthly rate of ±15 seconds (equivalent to ±1 second per day), the "Caliber 9R96" achieves an average monthly rate of ±10 seconds (equivalent to ±0.5 seconds per day). Similarly, the "Caliber 9R16" in the GMT model is a specially adjusted, higher-precision version of the 9R Spring Drive GMT movement, "Caliber 9R66." While the "Caliber 9R66" has an average monthly rate of ±15 seconds (equivalent to ±1 second per day), the "Caliber 9R16" has been refined to an average monthly rate of ±10 seconds (equivalent to ±0.5 seconds per day).
As proof of the special adjusted precision of both movements, an 18K yellow gold "Lion Emblem" is affixed to the oscillating weight, visible through the see-through case back.
