From the GRAND SEIKO series, which has pursued and realized the essence of watches at a high level and continuously advanced, a limited edition model commemorating the 55th anniversary of the "44GS," first released in 1967, will be launched on Friday, August 19, 2022, in a worldwide limited quantity of 1,500 units.

The "44GS" model, introduced in 1967, was born from the pursuit of the pinnacle of precision. It established the "Seiko Style" by incorporating a design rooted in Japanese aesthetics.

Now, a limited edition model commemorating the 55th anniversary of this "44GS" is being released.

This piece features a chic and special design, evoking the beautiful and striking scene of "Tsutenshin" (moonlit sky) with a full moon floating in a clear night sky.

The dial, in a deep navy color with a subtle, finely textured radial pattern, expresses the clear night sky. The GS logo shines in gold, representing the full moon at its zenith, while the sweeping seconds hand glimmers like light spilling from the moon, further accentuating the serene presence of the night sky.

The minute and seconds hands are manually curved to approach the dial, minimizing the distance to the dial to enhance legibility. Furthermore, the manual-winding Spring Drive movement Caliber 9R31, crafted at the "Shinshu Time Grandmaster Workshop," features a power reserve of 72 hours due to its use of two mainsprings within a single barrel, offering not only design but also functionality.

Similar to the "44GS," the watch employs a box crystal, with a reduced bezel thickness lowering the watch's overall center of gravity. This not only provides a classical aesthetic but also ensures a comfortable fit.

The case back is engraved with "LIMITED EDITION" and the serial number, serving as a mark of this special model and enhancing its appeal as a truly unique timepiece.
