A Style Revolution in Watchmaking: The All-Black & All-White J12 Phantom

Born in 2000 as the Maison's first true mechanical watch, Chanel's iconic J12 has been beautifully reimagined this year. From this iconic collection, the new J12 Phantom, unified in a single shade of black or white, has been released.

The J12 Phantom: The Essence of J12, Elevated to New Elegance

Launched in 2000, the all-black J12 was inspired by the worlds of sailing and racing cars. This model brought a style revolution to the watchmaking industry with its timeless design and the innovative use of ceramic. In 2003, a pure white model appeared, creating perfect harmony with black, and white subsequently became a significant color in the world of watches.

In 2019, celebrating its 20th anniversary, the J12 was reborn while retaining its identity. The design was refined down to the smallest details, including a narrower bezel, a smaller crown, elongated bracelet links, and adjusted proportions for the hands and updated font for the indices, resulting in a more sophisticated and elegant style.

The J12 Phantom, introduced within this new J12 line, is a timepiece in either all-black or all-white, dressed in J12's signature colors. The bezel and dial are unified in the same color as the case, while the hour, minute, and second hands feature rhodium finishing in their respective colors, creating a unified, monochromatic aesthetic. Both black and white versions are available in two case sizes, 38mm and 33mm, for a total of four models.

Furthermore, the new 38mm models feature a sapphire crystal case back, allowing a view of the COSC-certified Caliber 12.1 movement in action.
