New Collection "U" by Satoshi Wada, Car Designer Behind Audi "A5"

As the 19th model in the ISSEY MIYAKE WATCH project, a new series "U" by designer Satoshi Wada, comprising four models, will be available nationwide at ISSEY MIYAKE stores and ISSEY MIYAKE WATCH retailers starting Saturday, January 11, 2020.

Unique Curved Forms Evoke Car Design

Four models in the new "U" series have been announced as the 19th models in the ISSEY MIYAKE WATCH project. The design was handled by Satoshi Wada, who is active primarily in car design, including the Audi "A5," praised as "the most beautiful coupe in the world." Wada, who established his own design studio "SWdesign" after leaving Audi and proposes "minimalist things and lifestyles for a new era," has combined glass and a dial with curved surfaces reminiscent of a car body, blending emotional and universal elements. The sides of the watch case also feature futuristic curved shapes. Finished with a unique structure and cutting process to achieve a high-quality luster, the watch presents a minimal and refined appearance.

The dial is available in black or white, and you can choose between a natural cowhide leather strap or a slim metal bracelet designed for a secure fit.
