The Masculine Freelancer New Model "2785 SBC 60000" with Bronze Bezel and Anthracite-Colored Dial
Raymond Weil, based in Geneva, Switzerland, is launching the "2785 SBC 60000," a new timepiece featuring a bezel crafted from bronze, the oldest of metals, based on a modern full-skeleton design. It will be available at authorized dealers nationwide from late November 2021.
Bronze Bezel and Anthracite Color Emphasize Masculine Style
The "Freelancer," which fuses fashion and classicism, was born in 2007 as an homage to the entrepreneurship of founder Raymond Weil, embodying his creative drive and spirit of challenge. It is a collection that expresses the image of a man who forges his own destiny without being bound by convention, through its distinctive designs. As a new addition to this collection, the "2785 SBC 60000" has been released, featuring a modern full-skeleton design with a bezel made of bronze, the oldest of metals. Based on the full-skeleton series of the "Freelancer" announced in 2020, it is equipped with a skeletonized movement in an anthracite color, offering a deep and sophisticated appeal.
Anthracite is a traditional French color, a shade of dark gray close to black, achieved through delicate coloring processes. A special coating technique called NAC finishing, using platinum alloy, is applied to the main plate, bridges, and rotor of the movement. This technique allows for uniform painting without color unevenness due to its high malleability and adhesion, creating a deep, lustrous beauty akin to lacquerware.
Each part is skeletonized, with perlage decoration on the main plate and bridges, and a hairline finish on the rotor, expressing the tradition and innovation of Swiss watchmaking. By completely skeletonizing the dial, transparency and depth are created around the balance wheel at the 6 o'clock position, showcasing the beauty of the in-house developed "RW 1212" movement.
The in-house movement "RW 1212" was completed in 2017 after 18 months of development by the Raymond Weil design team, with the cooperation of movement manufacturer Sellita. The balance wheel, normally located at the 12 o'clock position, is placed at the opposite 6 o'clock position. The parts and weight have been adjusted to allow the precise and beautiful movement of the mechanical watch to be viewed from the dial side, and the movement has been skeletonized. The caliber name "RW 1212" is derived from the postal code of Grand-Lancy, Geneva, where Raymond Weil's headquarters are located.
This is a movement befitting Raymond Weil's flagship collection, built on a belief in sincere watchmaking.
