A Special Surprise to Delight Fans

Since its first appearance in the 1932 film "Shanghai Express" starring Marlene Dietrich, Hamilton has collaborated on over 500 Hollywood films.
In "Interstellar," released in 2014, the watch is a precious item that connects a father and daughter across time and space. Hamilton created the model, which is key to the story, for this film. Initially, it was not for sale and had no model name, but fans affectionately nicknamed it the "Murph" watch after the daughter's name, and its commercialization was highly anticipated.
In response to those fan voices, the "Khaki Field Murph Auto" was born, inheriting that name.
Although this film is set in the near future, its charm lay in the analog watch receiving a message from a father that transcends time and space. It eloquently conveyed the parental affection that digital means could not express, and perhaps its classical design from the 1940s is what left such a strong impression on fans. And it was the fans' sentiments that moved Hamilton.
The hour markers and hands have a burnt hue. While incorporating traditional design elements such as cobra hands, the case diameter of 42mm gives it a substantial presence, adding a modern feel to its nostalgic atmosphere. This design likely expresses the film's world view. Furthermore, the beige hands are treated with Super-LumiNova® for legibility in the dark, and the movement is equipped with the H-10, offering approximately 80 hours of power reserve, ensuring high practicality.
As a surprise for fans, the second hand is printed with the message "Eureka!" This was the exclamation the daughter made when she realized the message sent by her father via the watch, and it is a crucial line in the film indicating that humanity discovered a way to survive. Although the letters are so small they can only be confirmed with a magnifying glass, this is precisely what appeals to the fans' emotions.
