The "Grand Seiko Heritage Collection Seiko 140th Anniversary Limited Edition SLGA007," featuring a dial that expresses the beautiful surface of Lake Suwa and equipped with the latest Spring Drive movement, has been released.

Lake Suwa, located near the "Shinshu Time Creation Workshop" where Grand Seiko's Spring Drive models are manufactured, is a region symbolizing the development of precision machinery industries such as watches. Situated in the center of the high-altitude Suwa Basin, surrounded by mountains including the Yatsugatake range and the Japanese Alps, it has benefited from clear air and abundant water resources to this day.

In the stillness of early morning, the dial is meticulously crafted with a textured finish, inspired by the beautiful surface of Lake Suwa, where gentle ripples are created by the wind. This pattern, depending on the angle of light, reveals a surface that seems to shimmer like water stirred by a gentle breeze. Combined with the smooth sweep of the second hand, characteristic of Spring Drive, it evokes the passage of time amidst the tranquility of the lakeside. The gold Grand Seiko logo and second hand represent the morning sun glinting on the water, adding an elegant accent to the vibrant blue dial.

This model is equipped with the next-generation Spring Drive movement exclusively for Grand Seiko, "Caliber 9RA2." It achieves a thinner profile with the "offset magic lever" in the winding mechanism and ensures a power reserve of up to 120 hours by incorporating two barrels. The movement, featuring a beautiful blue steel indicator hand and finished with "Shinshu Frost Finish" to represent the frost flowers seen in the Shinshu region during the harsh winter, showcases Grand Seiko's unique aesthetic sensibility.
