From Grand Seiko, a brand continuously pursuing and realizing the essence of watchmaking—accuracy, beauty, and legibility—at the highest level, comes the "Evolution 9 Collection Spring Drive 5 Days." This is the first regular model to feature the latest Spring Drive movement, Caliber 9RA2, and will be available from February 11, 2022.

The "Evolution 9 Collection Spring Drive 5 Days," equipped with Grand Seiko's new Spring Drive movement, Caliber 9RA2, draws inspiration from the vast birch forest near the "Studio Shinshu Craftsmanship of Time," where this timepiece is manufactured. The white dial, with its delicate textured pattern representing the snow-laden birch forest, achieves perfect harmony with the silently sweeping, temper-blue seconds hand, expressing the unique world of Spring Drive that conveys the steady flow of time even in silence.

A key feature of this model is its Grand Seiko-exclusive next-generation Spring Drive movement, Caliber 9RA2. With power from two mainspring barrels of different sizes (dual-size barrels), it runs for approximately 120 hours (5 days) on a full wind, achieving remarkable accuracy of ±10 seconds per month, an extraordinary feat for a mechanical watch. Furthermore, by offsetting the "Magic Lever" automatic winding mechanism from the center, the movement has been made thinner.

The design of this model inherits the design grammar established by the "44GS" in 1967, while incorporating Japanese aesthetics that find beauty "between light and shadow." It is guided by a new design grammar aimed at further evolving essential legibility and wearability. The Zaratsu-polished case boasts a harmonious sheen, and the deeply grooved indices along with the three-dimensional hour and minute hands, distinguished by their strong contrast, achieve high legibility.

Through the see-through case back, one can glimpse the movement finished with "Shinshu Frost Finish," evoking the frost-covered trees seen in the Shinshu region during harsh winters, and a beautiful blue steel indicator hand, revealing a serene expression.
