State-of-the-Art Exterior Techniques Recreate the Patina of Age

Longines has revived a timepiece originally created for the French Navy in 1947 as the “Longines Heritage Military.” A key feature of this piece is its soft, textured gold opaline dial, finished to evoke the patina of an original model that has aged over time. The “FAB. SUISSE (Swiss Made)” designation, faithfully following the original, is also recreated.

The hour circle and hands are coated with brown Super-LumiNova®, recreating the aged appearance of the radium that was once applied to the original piece. The vibrant blue seconds hand, with its distinctive shape, also catches the eye.

This model features a domed sapphire crystal and a screw-down case back. It is powered by the Caliber L888.5, which incorporates a silicon balance spring.
