Longines has unveiled the new "Longines Spirit" collection, a tribute to the adventurers and aviators who challenged land, sea, and air in the 20th century. This collection blends the details of the timepieces and measuring instruments that these great pioneers trusted implicitly with contemporary design.

A Modern Expression of Longines' Enduring "Pioneer Spirit"
The "Longines Spirit" collection is born from the design heritage of Longines watches and instruments, which were trusted and favored by the great pioneers who explored land, sea, and air.
Legendary aviators and explorers such as Amelia Earhart, Paul-Émile Victor, Elinor Smith, and Howard Hughes chose Longines as their partner for arduous adventures. This collection, embodying their pioneering spirit, is a tribute to those who have etched their names in history with records, achievements, and bravery, and who continue to inspire future generations.
Many explorers and aviators who ventured into uncharted territories—facing harsh weather, turbulent seas, and the vastness of the sky—placed not only their deep trust but sometimes their very lives in Longines' watches and instruments. These pioneers of land, sea, and air equipped themselves with Longines timepieces as measuring instruments for their expeditions. Reviving this history for the modern era, the "Longines Spirit" combines the design elements of past pilot watches, refined into a contemporary aesthetic. Details beloved by the pioneers who challenged the skies are reflected throughout, from the large crown, flange, and stepped case to the dial's font and hand shapes. These elements have been polished and fused to give birth to a new watch.
The "Longines Spirit" collection also boasts significant technical features. The movement is equipped with an exclusive automatic caliber L888.4 or L688.4, featuring a silicon balance spring. These calibers, with power reserves of 64 and 60 hours respectively, have earned chronometer certification from the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC), attesting to their high precision.
Further features include sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective coating, a screw-down crown, and a case back secured by six screws.
The collection offers a 40mm three-hand calendar model and a 42mm chronograph model, each available with dial colors in matte black, grained silver, and sunray blue.
The five stars marked on the dial follow Longines' former practice of indicating the quality of its calibers by the number of stars, signifying that the "Longines Spirit" series represents the highest rating. Dark brown, light brown, or blue leather straps, or stainless steel bracelets, are provided to complement each dial color.
