To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the birth of Grand Seiko, the first stainless steel model equipped with the innovative mechanical caliber 9SA5, which debuted in 2020, will be available from Friday, December 11, 2022, in a worldwide limited edition of 1,000 pieces.

Grand Seiko is a luxury watch brand born in 1960 from the culmination of the era's technology and craftsmanship. Since then, it has pursued and realized the essence of a wristwatch—accuracy, legibility, and beauty—at a high level, aiming for the pinnacle of practical timepieces. After continuous advancement, it celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2020.

This anniversary is celebrated by the "Grand Seiko 60th Anniversary Limited Edition Heritage Collection Mechanical," the first stainless steel model equipped with the innovative "Mechanical Hi-Beat 36000 80 Hours" caliber 9SA5.

This timepiece is equipped with the world's highest level mechanical movement, which achieves a long power reserve of approximately 80 hours from a full wind, despite being a hi-beat movement that typically has a shorter power reserve. The conventional hi-beat movement in Grand Seiko (9S8 series), which beats at 36,000 vibrations per hour, has a power reserve of approximately 55 hours. However, with the "Caliber 9SA5," the adoption of a highly efficient escapement and twin barrels (two mainsprings) has enabled a significantly longer power reserve while maintaining the hi-beat frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour.

Furthermore, while based on the "Seiko Style" design code inherited by Grand Seiko, it also features a universal design that leads the new era of Grand Seiko, further enhancing the design of the original Grand Seiko. The low-profile case design and wider lug width compared to conventional metal bracelets contribute to excellent wearability.

The dial adopts the brand's iconic "Grand Seiko Blue," with a vibrant red seconds hand to enhance legibility. This model is an anniversary piece that embodies Grand Seiko's passion for watchmaking.
