Chaumet Unveils the Class One Collection

Chaumet, a name synonymous with Parisian high jewelry, holds a distinguished place among the "Grands Six" jewelers based in Place Vendôme.
The unveiling of new pieces from the "Class One" collection, a line of watches and jewelry that garnered significant attention upon its debut in 1998, has been announced.

Adorned with five types of stones, three colors of gold, and diamonds,
these new creations each hold a story inspired by a woman's day during her travels,
evoking the playful spirit of a holiday.
Featuring large and small cabochon rings, hoop earrings, pendants,
and more, the collection comprises a total of 20 pieces.

An Adventure of a Prestigious Maison

A decade ago, in 1998, Chaumet, located at 12 Place Vendôme, embarked on an adventure: the launch of its new watch and jewelry line, the "Class One" series.

Why was this considered an adventure for Chaumet? It was because this collection represented a new form of modernism proposed by a jeweler with a rich history.

Chaumet, a jeweler renowned among the "Grands Six" maisons of Place Vendôme, has a legacy dating back to 1780, the French Imperial era, evolving alongside figures like Napoleon and Queen Victoria. Its representative works, cherished as royal warrant holders, include tiaras and aigrettes worthy of museum display, alongside exquisitely opulent and dazzling high jewelry.

It was this Chaumet that, in 1998, introduced a diver's watch combining stainless steel and rubber, accented with diamonds. This marked a first for a maison rooted in history and tradition on Place Vendôme, and its release created a significant buzz.

Moreover, this era was a time when the watch industry was experiencing a revival and anticipating further growth. The stance of a "Grands Six" jeweler deliberately expressing such contemporary sensibilities captured the interest of many, hinting at the expanding possibilities of watches and the evolving role of jewelers.

A Collection Themed Around Holidays

From the "Class One" series, a new jewelry collection has been unveiled this year. Aptly named "Class One Croisière," it is a collection themed around travel and holidays.

The five types of stones—pink quartz, citrine, blue topaz, smoky quartz, and moonstone—each emit a soft, melting radiance. For each stone, a keyword inspired by an event during a woman's imagined holiday day is intertwined.

For instance, pink quartz represents the dawn sky, citrine the intense sunlight, and moonstone an embrace under the full moon... Each piece carries themes that resonate with a woman's pure heart, a thoughtful touch. While these are jewels to be worn according to mood throughout the day, the smoky quartz, with its serene glow, particularly enhances the beauty of sun-kissed, tanned skin in summer.

Diamonds that brilliantly sparkle in the vivid sunlight,
and a vivid blue dial reminiscent of the sea's shimmer,
paired with a white rubber strap that evokes coolness, are highly recommended for the upcoming season.
We certainly recommend them.

The Maison's Vision for the Future

As the weather warms with the sun's embrace, the diver's watch, the origin of Class One, particularly in vivid colors reminiscent of the sea's sparkle, would be a fitting choice for men.

Even for men who may shy away from bright colors, a watch offers an avenue for experimentation. Especially in recent times where men's jewelry is gaining prominence, those looking to explore gemstones might consider starting with a diamond model imbued with the maison's esprit.

Chaumet's aesthetic lies in its ability to forge a unique contemporary style by adapting tradition to the times.

This "Class One" series, meticulously crafted with the prestigious maison's vision for the future, remains as vibrant as ever a decade later, adorning our wrists and décolletages with brilliance.
