A Scaleless World Unfolding on a Miniature Ring
Nakayama has created two original sketches for NIESSING's "Graffiti" jewelry, which allows for drawings and text to be applied to the ring's surface. His method of generating new architecture from hand-drawn sketches is applied here. This sensibility expands across the ring's surface, evoking a landscape that is both intricate and vast.
The event will also feature an installation displaying NIESSING jewelry alongside three architectural models: "Too Small Building," "Large Door on a Grassland," and "Villa N at Lake K."
Nakayama commented on this collaboration: "The 'Metal Tree' and 'Ring of Rings' are adorned with drawings that evoke forests and water, respectively. When rotated on the finger, the depth of the forest shifts, the density of the bubbles changes, and a scaleless landscape unfolds within the small ring."
On Saturday, November 2nd, a talk show will be held with Nakayama andEizo Okada, who served as director for this project. Limited to the first 30 attendees, advance registration is required.
During the exhibition period, the newly renovated NIESSING Tokyo, which reopened this autumn, will be transformed into a world of boundless scale. The price of the special rings created through this collaboration has not yet been determined.
