Skills for Clay Court Play Taught

With a history spanning over 180 years, Longines continues to create timepieces centered on "Tradition," "Elegance," and "Performance." The "Longines Future Tennis Aces" event, held to discover young aces, took place in Paris from May 30th to June 1st.

This year's tournament brought together promising male players under 13 years old from 16 countries, including Japan, Australia, France, China, Poland, and Mexico. Matches were played on clay courts, mirroring the French Open. The two finalists will receive not only a trophy but also a $2,000 scholarship each, to be awarded until they turn 16, to support their purchase of tennis gear and other necessities.

Prior to the tournament, training sessions were held at the "Longines Academy." Former French professional tennis player Jérôme Golmard and others shared techniques for clay court play, such as managing pace and executing slides. These sessions aimed to foster further development in their game while instilling values of sportsmanship, including fair play, respect, and perseverance.
