A Stunning Complication Watch Featuring the Sun, Moon, and Earth
Founded in 1822 in Fleurier, at the foot of the Jura Mountains—the cradle of Swiss watchmaking—by Édouard Bovet, BOVET is the seventh oldest watch brand. Operating under a fully integrated manufacturing system, the brand unveils collections each year adorned with exceptional traditional craftsmanship and artistic decoration, establishing itself as a leading name in complication watches.
This BOVET astronomical watch, the Récital 22 GrandRécital, received the "Aiguille d'Or" (Golden Hand) Grand Prize at the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix 2018. The watch is
on limited-time exhibition at The Hour Glass Ginza, a luxury watch specialty store in Ginza, until April 30, 2019 (Tuesday, holiday).
The "Recital 22 Grand Recital" reproduces the three celestial bodies—the sun, moon, and earth—within the watch. The case back houses a complex mechanism with 705 parts, a retrograde perpetual calendar, and a revolutionary patented flying tourbillon. Despite the condensation of numerous intricate functions, it achieves an impressive power reserve of over nine days from a single barrel. The "Recital 22 Grand Recital" features three of the five patents held by BOVET, making it a true complication masterpiece.
