Inheriting McLaren's Aesthetics and Engineering

McLaren Automotive and Richard Mille have unveiled their first collaborative watch, the "RM 11-03 McLaren Automatic Flyback Chronograph."

The timepiece was revealed at a reception hosted by Mike Flewitt, CEO of McLaren Automotive, and Richard Mille, CEO of Richard Mille, during the 88th Geneva International Motor Show.

Limited to 500 pieces worldwide, it will be primarily offered to customers of the McLaren Ultimate Series.

Since the partnership between McLaren Automotive and Richard Mille was established in 2017, the "RM 11-03 McLaren Automatic Flyback Chronograph" has been developed through close collaboration between Rob Melville, McLaren's Design Director, and Fabrice Namura, Richard Mille's engineer. This process has fused their shared interests in unique design, the use of novel materials, and contemporary craftsmanship.

Notably, the design of this special timepiece is inspired by McLaren's luxurious super-sports cars.

The case is crafted from TPT® carbon, interwoven with TPT® orange quartz.

While incorporating McLaren's signature orange, the TPT® carbon enhances performance and provides exceptional durability capable of withstanding harsh conditions. Furthermore, the titanium pushers attached to the TPT® carbon case are designed to echo the distinctive headlights of the McLaren 720S.

Titanium components embedded in the bezel, bearing the McLaren logo, reflect the iconic air intakes of the McLaren F1. The Grade 5 titanium crown mirrors the design of McLaren's lightweight wheels. Additionally, the rubber strap features the McLaren speedmark logo, fully embodying the world of super-sports cars.

The RM 11-03 McLaren is equipped with the automatic RMAC3 caliber mechanism (introduced in 2016), a flyback chronograph, and a 55-hour power reserve. It allows for the instantaneous resetting of counters and immediate restart of the chronograph function without stopping the mechanism. This feature was developed to enable pilots in flight to operate the chronograph's stop, reset, and restart functions without any loss of time. The dial also displays the calendar and an oversized date, showcasing its exquisite mechanism.
