A Design Pursuing the Very Essence of a Watch, Born from Reduction

The 'Metro' series was created in 2014 by Mark Braun, a designer based in Berlin. It masterfully blends high watchmaking technology with sophisticated design, earning it a devoted following worldwide.

Since its announcement, the series has swept prestigious global awards, including the German Design Award, Good Design Award, and iF Design Award. Now, the 'Metro 38' and 'Metro 38 Urban Gray' join this celebrated collection.

By removing the date and power reserve indicators, the 'Metro 38' and 'Metro 38 Urban Gray' further accentuate the 'Metro's' design, which pursues the fundamental purpose of a wristwatch: to tell time. This is evident in the Empire State Building-esque silhouette, with meticulous attention paid to the length of the minute hand reaching the seconds dot, the simple yet playful dot indices, and the vibrant red small seconds. This model is powered by the hand-wound Alpha movement, NOMOS's most frequently used caliber.

NOMOS was founded in 1990 in Glashütte, the heart of the German watchmaking industry. Since its inception, the company has consistently conducted research and development, as well as movement production and assembly, in Glashütte, while all design work is carried out in Berlin. Its designs, deeply influenced by the principles of the Deutscher Werkbund and the Bauhaus, are now recognized globally, having garnered over 130 awards.

NOMOS is often referred to as a "Bauhaus watch," but its origins lie in the spirit of the Deutscher Werkbund and the Bauhaus, the design school established to carry forward its ideals.
